No rain at the well presented Old Course today, although a number of soft patches showed evidence of the recent rains. It was a very good turnout and despite numerous attempts to increase our number of tee times to four, we had to accept playing as three five balls which is never ideal and regrettably having to turn one or two players away.
Nevertheless, the rounds were completed in around four and a half hours, which was very acceptable.
John Emmerson, who has been off the leaderboards for sometime with all kinds of injuries, is at last showing some signs of regaining his game. John (left) shared 3rd with Charlie (right) both with 29pts. (17,12,7 on countback). Bob Fagan (front) was second with 30pts losing on countback to today's winner, Greg Robinson (back centre) playing off 12. Greg returns to Scotland this weekend and the four Aussie lads; Ron Beattie, Gus Buderos, Glen Porter and Terry Richardson fly home tonight; as does my son Harry, who returns to Capetown, where he now lives.
We return to the Old Course next Friday, with a first tee time of 8.30am;
